A wealth of resources for fans of the Lebanese entertainment world.
This collaborative screenwriting community will accomplish an entire film script--each scene by a different writer--over the course of one year. It's destined to be crazy. Along the way, a slew of smaller challenges will be offered.

You know, since I'm already revealing my inner dork here, I might as well throw in some more quirky things I've come across this week that made me smile:
50th Anniversary of the Instant Noodle - A lovely homage to the late Momofuku Ando, creator of the instant noodle. He had some sage advice!
Good Morning - Kanye's new music video by Takashi Murakami. It's so damn cute!
Can you beat Usain Bolt? - Click on the game on the upper right corner. My friend and I tried this at work to our great amusement. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. XD

I should really resume my packing. Guh, I hate packing for trips! I always feel like I'm going to forget something..
In any case, I will be away from tomorrow through Sunday, so hope everyone has a lovely week and weekend! I'll be popping in to LJ and email maybe once a day on my phone. ♥

I've been a bit absentee from my LJ this month! I guess it's just a slow time. ^__^ Hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend. Yesterday I took my dog to the groomer, and one of the fellow customers mistook him for a papillon. He does kind of look like one, with the long hairs that stick up behind his ears. ♥ I suppose the long coats aren't as common in chihuahuas? I'm actually not very sure.
Afterward, I met up with a friend of mine to plan for our trip! I'm heading up to New York again this coming week, and this time hope to be doing some hard core Big Apple stuff like Broadway shows, museum hopping, window shopping and of course - wining & dining. We already have a reservation at Tom Colicchio's Craft, which will be one of our splurge nights. Can't wait!
By the by, if you're planning a trip, a great (cheap) way to do it is at a bookshop. We pulled a bunch of maps and tour guides from the shelf and hunkered down in the cafe and poured over our options over a cups of coffee.
Following our massive planning session (much of which was spent on reviewing possible restaurants to try XD) we strolled over to Central, Michel Richard's fabulous bistro in the Penn Quarter. I've always wanted to try one of his restaurants, and it certainly did not disappoint. I went non-alcoholic with a tasty strawberry soda, and we shared an entree of steak au poivre with onion carbonara and a side dish of macaroni and cheese. It was actually penne and cheese (pictured on the left), and it had a wonderfully crusty top layer, served in a cute mini cast iron casserole dish.
And today I popped over to one of my favorite bakeries to snag a few pastries!
( I lined them up on multicolored plates! )

☆ Olympic Games by Colour Lovers - A cool list of all the Summer Olympic game logos and their color themes. Also includes a few facts about each of the games.
☆ Track 'n' Snacks at the Bird's Nest - This was kind of cool...a blogger takes pics of some of the food available at the Beijing "Bird's Nest" stadium. Who knew you could get a loaf of bread or peach mango yogurt at a stadium? I'm more used to the bad-for-you foods like nachos with liquid cheese, or hotdogs with relish. What's typical stadium food in your part of the world?
☆ Beijing Topiary Gardens - Wow, I didn't know you could make gardens look like this! O___o I like the dolphin hedges in particular.
☆ Finding Faces - A cute Flickr photostream of faces found in everyday objects. Clever!
☆ The Big Picture - Lovely photo blog from the Boston Globe that covers a wide variety of subjects. My favorite entry is the one of Jupiter, which includes the most detailed color portrait of the planet ever made.
